About Me
A Man Without Equal
So, you want to know a little more about me, do you? Well I'm not surprised... after all, my reputation precedes me!
I am Lord Eugene Percival Rapscallion, the fourth son of Lord and Lady Rapscallion of Wyndercott. I have three useless brothers, Henry, Thomas and Oliver - none of whom are currently available to reside over Rapscallion Towers... and so it falls on my shoulders. I won't bore you with details of who's who, let's be honest, I'm the only one of and standing, but if you're really interested in those less significant mortals you can peruse my family tree.
Now a lot has been written about me over the years... not least in this AWFUL and somewhat INACCURATE summary by the Scholar Courtney S. Hughes, but since my eldest brother, Henry, went off to fight in the Crusades it has fallen on me to take the Seat of Lord of Wyndercott and look after the family's legacy.
Whilst many lesser men may let such a responsiblity go to their heads, Ihave decided to make the most of my time as Lord Rapscallion to support worthy causes... most importantly my own. It is for this reason that I am currently travelling the lengths and depths of Great Britain erecting monuments and follies to honour my greatness. It is my dream that one day, many, many, centuries from now, I shall be remembered and exalted by children everywhere through tiny looking glass devices if such a thing should ever exist.
I am pleased to say that the wise monks at Hereford Cathedral have already recognised my truly astounding qualities and recently invited me to pay them a visit (though by bumbling Brother Thomas kept poking his nose in!) and whilst there I do the opportunity to make a couple of alterations of my own!
Anyway.. If you feel you are worthy enough, and if you would like me to grace you with a visit too, then perhaps take a look at this rather YAWN FILLED brochure produced by Your Heritage Ltd (Your Heritage?? Surely it's all about MY heritage!!). Don't worry that this particular brochure is for Cathedral's - it gives a good account of what they can do, so I am told. Indeed it is packed with useful information... though, again, I haven't read it myself... I'm far too busy planning my latest rennovation!!!

The Family Crest
Arripiam Mutabo Celebrador
Isn't it beautiful?! The Rapscallion Family Crest... a story in itself. We have the Cross to represent both my brother Henry (who's off on a crusade as you know) and my Brother Thomas (who is now a man of the cloth). Then there are four gold coins to celebrate our wealth and my third brother Oliver (who married far too well if you ask me!). The pig, sadly, Gwedolyn insisted on... it's a long story and I'd rather not go into it. Then central is my 'signal' - the Raven... like me, cunning and wise!! I added the crown recently because, quite frankly, I deserve one. Ah... and finally my motto: Arripiam, Mutabo, Celebrador... I will snatch, I will change, I will be celebrated. Was there ever a finer family crest? I think not.
